Joe Poses (founder of J. B. Poses and Associates, Inc.) started working in the insurance industry in 1978 as an independent adjuster.  In that capacity, he traveled throughout the United States handling all types of catastrophe claims including but not limited to: hurricanes, tornadoes, hail storms, ice storms, wild fires, and earthquakes.  In 1988 he founded the public adjusting firm J.B. Poses and Associates, Inc. and began handling insurance claims in that capacity. His first hand knowledge of how insurance companies operated and handled claims gave him an immediate upper hand when dealing with them.

Jason Poses, Joe's son, began working and learning from Joe at an early age.  He often spent his summers on the road "storm trooping" with his dad.  When Joe transitioned to public adjusting, Jason continued to work alongside him and continued to learn.  After graduating from college in 1999 with a degree in Biology, Jason chose to follow the career path of his father, rather than pursuing a career in biology.
